The NAMA Headquarters is housed in a 1970s mixed-use building in Athens. The renovation of the space was radical in order to meet both the functional and aesthetic needs of the company.
The space was meticulously studied down to the smallest detail; from the high-end constructional methods and materials to the furniture, the lighting fixtures and the decorative pieces of art. The programme contains one reception with a waiting area, one meeting room, two designers’ areas, two closed offices, kitchen, ancillary rooms and a backyard! Each place offered us an occasion to experiment with innovative materials and demanding techniques. We tried to discover new contemporary uses and applications for plaster and stucco-marble, aka Scagliola, such as modular textured wall and ceiling surfaces, meeting tables, desks, shelves, bookcases, spotlights, mounted lights, light profiles and sculptural objects!
This thorough exploration not only led to the creation of a spectrum of unique items but also to the foundation of two new companies dedicated to the production of plaster products and Scagliola constructions.
