The Aithrion project is situated in a 315m2 lot and consists of 3 different properties; a 45m2 studio at the ground level, a 125m2 flat at the 1st level and a 2-storey 180m2 flat at the 2nd and 3rd level. It is about a building, whose spaces are structured around a square-shaped atrium with a tree in the centre of it.

Aithrion, the greek word for atrium, is a timeless passive design element throughout the development of the buildings’ typologies. Here, the atrium lies at the heart of the building’s volume providing a maximized daylight penetration into its levels and an upgraded natural ventilation system. The glass surfaces of the atrium admit the sunlight, filtered from the tree foliage, and blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor. From the living room, the kitchen and the bedroom you can enjoy the view of the tree and observe its changes throughout the seasons.

As far as the constructional system is concerned, cement walls separate the circulation core from the private spaces and support their cantilever balconies.

Up to the terrace all the dwellers can relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the Athenian coastline while swimming in the pool.
